Question hub
Which CS2 marketplaces does Mercato track?
11 marketplaces, each with a page of its own: Avan.Market, BUFF Market, CSBoard, DMarket, ECOSteam, HaloSkins, Mannco.store, ShadowPay, SkinBaron, SkinPlace, Tradeit.
Which marketplace has the cheapest CS2 skins?
No single one. Each holds the lowest comparable price on a different part of the catalogue — measured across every item Mercato compares right now:
- BUFF Marketcheapest on 7,427 items
- ECOSteamcheapest on 6,654 items
- HaloSkinscheapest on 5,580 items
The cheapest purchasable offer carries the “Best price” badge. A paid placement can buy a position in the list; it never buys the badge and never changes the price shown.
How do marketplace fees compare?
- Avan.Market (Bot-based marketplace) — Avan.Market's terms confirm that fees apply but publish no schedule: withdrawals carry a fixed network fee for cryptocurrency and a proportional one for bank methods, above a minimum payout. Counter-Strike 2 items bought there arrive with an eight-day trade hold, so they cannot be traded on or sold again until it expires.
- BUFF Market (Peer-to-peer marketplace) — BUFF Market publishes a 2.5% seller commission; the fee schedule is the marketplace's own and moves without notice.
- CSBoard (Peer-to-peer marketplace) — CSBoard states that the price shown to a buyer already includes its service fee, so the quoted amount is what leaves the balance. Funding it costs nothing by cryptocurrency - the sender pays only network gas, above a $2 minimum - while the Russian fiat rails add 3% on top. Withdrawals are charged 0.4% to cryptocurrency, 4% to a Russian card, and 5% plus $4 to PayPal. Premium, API access and the automation tools are charged separately. A seller's proceeds reach a withdrawable balance no earlier than seven calendar days after the Steam trade is confirmed. Every schedule here is CSBoard's own and moves without notice.
- DMarket (Bot-based marketplace) — DMarket charges the seller, not the buyer: its published schedule lists a sell fee and a trade fee and no buy fee. For Counter-Strike 2 the sell fee is usually 2% and varies up to 10% by item liquidity, and the trade fee is 2.5%. Some items carry temporarily reduced fees.
- ECOSteam (Peer-to-peer marketplace) — ECOSteam publishes no trading commission and a 1% withdrawal fee, with a minimum charge per withdrawal and a daily cap on how many may be made; the schedule is the marketplace's own and moves without notice.
- HaloSkins (Peer-to-peer marketplace) — HaloSkins charges a buyer nothing on the item itself - the price shown is what leaves the balance - so what a purchase costs above the sticker is whatever funding the balance cost. Cryptocurrency is charged 1% through Whitepay, above a minimum of 0.5 USDT; cards and wallets are charged 3.7% plus $0.20 through Antom. Which rails appear is decided by the region the deposit dialog is opened from, so a reader elsewhere may be offered a different set. A seller is charged 1%, which HaloSkins describes as a reduction from its standard 3% rather than as its rate, with a $0.01 minimum. Only a balance earned by selling may be withdrawn, and only in cryptocurrency, from 0.005% plus $0.50 depending on the chain. Every schedule here is HaloSkins' own and moves without notice.
- Mannco.store (Bot-based marketplace) — Mannco.store publishes a 5% seller commission; the schedule is the store's own and moves without notice.
- ShadowPay (Peer-to-peer marketplace) — Which deposit methods a buyer is offered depends on the country the deposit dialog is opened from, and cards are routed through Zen, Unlimit or ecommpay by region. A seller is charged 5% per marketplace sale, or 65% on an instant sell to ShadowPay. Payouts are in cryptocurrency only, at 5% per payout with a $20 minimum, and only a balance earned by selling may be withdrawn; sale proceeds are held for 8 days after delivery. Every schedule here is ShadowPay's own and moves without notice.
- SkinBaron (Bot-based marketplace) — Buying carries a marketplace fee of at least 5%, waived when paying from SkinBaron balance or a gift card. Seller commission is tiered — published at up to 15%, with lower rates for high-value listings and private sales. Both schedules are SkinBaron's own and move without notice.
- SkinPlace (Peer-to-peer marketplace) — Which deposit methods a buyer is offered depends on the country the deposit dialog is opened from; a $2 card deposit through Unlimit was shown crediting $1.68, and balances are held in US dollars. Sale proceeds are held for 8 days, Steam's trade cancellation period. SkinPlace publishes no seller fee schedule. The payout minimum is $5 and varies by method — the PayPal dialog showed $60. A buyer who rolls back a trade is charged 50% of the purchase value. Every schedule here is SkinPlace's own and moves without notice.
- Tradeit (Bot-based trading site) — Fees depend on the flow — instant sales, card deposits and crypto payouts each carry their own published rate; the schedule is the site's own and moves without notice.
Every schedule above is the marketplace’s own, as it publishes it. Mercato charges nothing and takes no cut.
What is the difference between bot-based and peer-to-peer marketplaces?
A bot-based marketplace holds the items itself: a trade bot delivers as soon as the payment clears, so a purchase completes in minutes without the seller being online.
Bot-based marketplace: Avan.Market, DMarket, Mannco.store, SkinBaron.
A peer-to-peer marketplace matches you with another player: the site escrows the payment and the seller sends the trade themselves, so delivery waits on a person.
Peer-to-peer marketplace: BUFF Market, CSBoard, ECOSteam, HaloSkins, ShadowPay, SkinPlace.
Bot-based trading site: Tradeit.

- CSBoard — Cryptocurrency, Mir, Visa, PayPal.

- SkinBaron — Bank transfer.
- SkinPlace — Visa, Mastercard, SEPA, PayPal, Zen, Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Tether.
- Tradeit — Bank transfer, Bank cards, Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether.
Mercato never handles a payment, holds an item or acts on your behalf. It links you to the marketplace and the trade happens there.
How does Mercato compare prices across marketplaces?
It mirrors each marketplace’s public offer list on a schedule and stores what it saw, with the time it saw it. Offers quoted in another currency are converted to US dollars at the European Central Bank’s daily reference rate, so every figure on the site is comparable.
The cheapest purchasable offer carries the “Best price” badge. A paid placement can buy a position in the list; it never buys the badge and never changes the price shown.
Fees taken at checkout, regional restrictions and account requirements are not observed and are not stated anywhere on this site. Read them on the marketplace before you trade.
