Terms of Service

The rules for using Mercato — in plain language.

Effective date: 7 August 2026 · Contact: [email protected]

1. The service

Mercato (mercato.gg) is a read-only market data site for the Steam economy: prices, sales history and the relationships between items. Mercato never executes trades, never holds items or funds, and never performs any action on your behalf on Steam or on any marketplace. Where Mercato links to a marketplace, the transaction is entirely between you and that marketplace.

2. Not financial advice

Every price, statistic and figure on Mercato is informational. None of it is financial, investment or trading advice, and no outcome is promised or guaranteed. Buying and selling decisions — and their results — are entirely yours.

3. No accounts

Mercato has no accounts. There is nothing to register for and nothing to sign in to, and Mercato never asks for your Steam credentials. You may stop using Mercato at any time by closing the page. What little the site records is described in the Privacy Policy.

3a. Item ratings

You may rate an item from one to five stars. A rating is one reader’s opinion, it is published as part of an average, and it is not a valuation. One browser may rate a given item once. We may remove ratings that are automated or cast to distort an average.

4. Acceptable use

  • No attempts to disrupt, overload or bypass the platform’s security or rate limits.
  • No automated scraping of the site or its APIs.
  • No reselling or republishing Mercato’s data as your own service without an agreement.
  • No use of the platform for fraud or activity that violates applicable law.

5. Data accuracy

Market data is collected from public sources on schedules constrained by those sources’ rate limits. Data may be delayed, incomplete or occasionally wrong; each item page shows when its data was last collected. Mercato is provided “as is” without warranties of availability or accuracy.

6. Price and availability

Mercato is free to use and processes no payments. There are no paid plans and no subscriptions. Requests are subject to rate limits that protect the service from abuse. Should paid offerings be introduced in future, these terms will be updated before any payment is taken.

7. Intellectual property

Steam, Steam Marketplace, game names, item names, item imagery, logos and all related trademarks belong to their respective owners. Mercato displays them solely for informational purposes. Mercato’s own software, design and aggregated datasets belong to Mercato.

8. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mercato is not liable for trading losses, lost profits, or indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the platform. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

9. Changes to these terms

Material changes will be announced on this page with a new effective date. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

Mercato is operated by sole proprietor Artem Titorenko, Ukraine. Mercato is an independent platform and is not affiliated with Valve Corporation or Steam.
